More than 1,700 new coronavirus cases and 49 COVID-19 fatalities in Bosnia

More than 1,700 people have tested positive for the coronavirus and 49 people passed away due to COVID-19 in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past 24 hours, healthcare authorities in the country said on Thursday.

Of the 3,574 samples tested in Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region since Wednesday, 1,120 were positive for the coronavirus and 21 new COVID-19 deaths were reported to the FBiH Public Health Institute.

In the other semi-autonomous region in the country, Republika Srpska (RS), 515 of the 1,344 people tested were positive while 26 more people died due to the disease.

Another 92 coronavirus cases and two COVID-19 fatalities were also reported in Bosnia’s Brcko District.

A total of 68,293 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia since the beginning of the epidemic and 33,690 have recovered so far.

The COVID-19 death toll is now 1,750 and there are currently 32,853 active coronavirus cases in the country.
