For the fourth straight day, Sarajevo Canton healthcare authorities reported that the number of those who recovered from Covid-19 is larger than the number of new coronavirus infections, according to the cantonal government.

“240 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered following a lab analysis of 1,009 samples, but also 551 people recovered from the infection. These are the samples collected in the period from 15 to 18 November this year, and the analyses results have been submitted to the SC Healthcare Institute in the last 24 hours,” the Government said.

A large portion of newly infected patients, 63 percent of them, comes from family clusters or those who had contact with confirmed patients.

The total of 389 patients is undergoing hospital treatment at Sarajevo's hospitals and clinical centres.

18 patients have been released from hospital in the past 24 hours. Eight died, bringing the death toll in the canton to 202.

“In order to reduce the coronavirus infection threat, it is of utmost importance besides a regular wearing of face mask to keep physical distance, wash hands often and thoroughly, and to avoid touching of eyes, lips and nose,” the authorities reiterated.
