The national coronavirus response team has decided that only people who present a negative PCR test for Covid-19 not older than 48 hours can enter Croatia, Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic announced on Monday.
“Travellers arriving from green areas of the EU with respect to the Covid-19 incidence do not need a PCR test nor do they need to meet any additional conditions to enter Croatia. However, right now the only green area in the EU is the island of Fasta in Finland. All other travellers coming from the EU need to produce a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours or take a PCR test on arrival in Croatia and stay in self-isolation until a negative result comes in,” Bozinovic said.
The decision does not apply to cross-border health workers and students who travel on a daily basis, provided that they do not stay in Croatia or abroad for more than 12 hours, he added.
Also exempt from testing and self-isolation are sailors, hauliers, diplomats, international organisations’ staff, people travelling for pressing family or health reasons or those travelling on business, including journalists and people in transit.
Third-country nationals are not allowed to enter Croatia except in the case of several exemptions, including those possessing a negative PCR test, Bozinovic said.
EU citizens arriving from non-EU territories can enter Croatia on presentation of a negative PCR test, the exemptions being cross-border workers and students.
