In 24 months, the southeastern town Nevesinje will get the largest wind park in Bosnia and Herzegovina worth more than 130 million marks (some €65 million), investors announced.

Heavy machinery has been brought to the site Grebak above Nevesinje and is ready to start with construction works.

The wind turbines will be 102-metres high with the propeller range of 155 metres.

“The installed capacity of 66 megawatts will yearly produce around 180-gigawatt hours. We can talk about deadlines now, the total of ten wind turbines will be installed here in 24 months,” said Miralem Campara, executive manager of ‘VE Grebak’ company.

Only one wind turbine could supply over 4,000 residents with electric power.

“The wind park will provide the Nevesinje Municipality with a profit of more than a million marks (some 500 thousand Euros) per year, which is more than significant,” stressed municipality heaf, Milenko Avdalovic.

Negotiations for the construction have been ongoing for four years.

Energy minister in Bosnia's Republika Srpska region, Petar Djokic, said the German investor has already constructed several wind parks in Germany and other European countries and has a huge experience in the construction and management of this source of energy.
