Helicopters of Bosnia’s Armed Forces and services of the country’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity are searching for an aeroplane with two crew members that disappeared above the mountains of Kozara near the northern Bosnian town of Gradiska on Thursday.
According to rescue teams, the ‘Piper 28’ sports plane crashed and there is still no sign of the two crew members who were aboard.
The thick fog is making the search for the plane difficult for rescue teams, the Civil Protection, police officers, RS Interior Ministry special forces, the Gendarmerie, as well as helicopters of the RS Helicopter Service and the BiH Armed Forces.
Media reported that the aeroplane is owned by the company ‘STS Avijacija’ from Belgrade, Serbia, and that it disappeared while dropping tablets against rabies for foxes in the area.
A pilot and an operator, who were according to local media Serbian an Romanian nationals, were aboard the plane.
