Bosnian Constitution and its government structure will have to change, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary and Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer told Radio Free Europe on Wednesday.

I think the generally accepted opinion is that reforms are necessary. That will also require Constitutional changes at some point, changes to the BiH government structure so that the government belongs to the people of BiH,” Palmer said speaking at the online press conference for Montenegrin journalists.

“There are discussions on how to move forward, what's the bast way for it,” he added.

“However,” he stressed, “should Bosnia make progress in the reforms needed for the country to move forward on its path to Europe, it must focus on the functioning of state institutions.”
