Russian actions, their selective support for political leaders from Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity regardless of their actions, are unprincipled, Bakir Izetbegovic, the leader of the strongest Bosniak party said Wednesday in Mostar, adding that such actions are a radical interference in BiH's internal affairs.

The leader of the Democratic Action Party (SDA) and SDA deputy leader Denis Zvizdic met with Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina (SBiH) leader Amer Jerlagic and Bosnia-Podrinje Party (BPS) Leader Sefer Halilovic in Mostar where they talked with candidates of the “Coalition for Mostar” on the occasion of the upcoming local elections in this south Bosnian City.

Addressing the journalists, he briefly touched upon the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's visit to the tripartite Presidency which was boycotted by the Bosniak member Sefik Dzaferovic and his Croat counterpart over a previous meeting with Bosnian officials in Republika Srpska entity where no Bosnian flag was exhibited.

“I spoke with Dzaferovic (SDA) yesterday who called me and said that they decided. Of course, I coordinate with Dzaferovic, but never with Komsic. We only agreed on the matters concerning NATO,” Izetbegovic, who is also Deputy Speaker of Bosnia's House of Peoples, told the media.

He called allegations that he also coordinated the Lavrov Boycott with the Croat Presidency member Zeljko Komsic complete nonsense, noting that both Komsic and Dzaferovic are leaders with strong integrity, commending them for refusing to meet the Russian Foreign Minister.

“They did a good thing. What Russia is doing is unprincipled, selectively support RS leaders no matter what they are doing. It is a radical interference in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's Lavrov's fault for disrespecting the symbols and laws of BiH, such as the Law on Defence of BiH in relation to NATO, for deliberately sending such messages, and he himself provoked Dzaferovic and Komsic to do what they did,” Izetbegovic said in Mostar.

After the said meeting in the RS, Lavrov said the Russian Federation supports RS entity's decision to remain militarily neutral, despite the fact that Bosnia adopted a number of decisions and the Law on Defence stipulating its commitment to NATO accession.
