Bosnian capital Sarajevo is the second most polluted city in the world, Air Visual data for Friday afternoon said, while the most polluted world city is Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Air pollution index amounted to 214 and the concentration of PM2.5 particles amounted to 164 µg/m³ making the air “very unhealthy.”
Data from the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo shows the level of pollution as just a bit lower, and they labelled Sarajevo air quality as “unhealthy.”
According to their data, the pollution index measured at 1 pm was 195.
Sarajevo International Airport told N1 they were forced to cancel all incoming flights this morning, hoping the fog which engulfed the ciy would clear between 12 and 4 pm.
