Today, Denis Becirovic, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with René Troccaz, the French Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, to discuss and reinforce the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
Becirovic emphasized the positive and friendly relationship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of France, noting that there are no open issues between the two nations. He highlighted his recent meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron as a testament to the solid alliance between the countries, describing it as strategically important and expressing Bosnia and Herzegovina's readiness to contribute to strengthening this partnership.
Both parties agreed that enhancing bilateral cooperation is in the interest of both nations. Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomes increased support for its stability, regional connectivity, and cooperation.
Becirovic expressed gratitude to France for deploying soldiers within the EUFOR Strategic Reserve Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina to help maintain peace and stability. Discussing regional relations, they shared common views on the region's future.
He also recalled the significant support Bosnia and Herzegovina received from France on its path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. As an important ally, France co-sponsored and supported the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution on Srebrenica, designating July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Genocide committed against Bosniaks in Srebrenica.
The discussion, attended by French Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina François Delmas, also covered other topics of mutual interest, according to a statement from the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
