BiH Civil Affairs Ministry organizes online meeting of WB countries

BiH Civil Affairs Ministry organized an online meeting of representatives of six Western Balkan countries. The meeting was held with Valentina Superti, Director for the Western Balkans at the European Commission's Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

In addition to Superti, the meeting was attended by the Civil Affairs Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bosnjak, who was the host, Majlinda Dhuka, Albania's Minister of State and Chief Negotiator with the European Union, and representatives of various ministries of Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Kosovo.

They discussed the connection and cooperation between these six countries in areas like the SEPA project, which refers to the establishment of a unified payment system, and the Green Lines project, concerning the facilitations in the transport of perishable goods when crossing the border, for the sake of ease of trade and business.

They also discussed the cooperation of the countries of the Western Balkans with the Critical Medicines Alliance, which was established by the European Commission in October 2023. Establishing an alliance is one of the key measures to prevent drug shortages.

The meeting participants also discussed the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, the digital wallet, and underwater tourism.

Minister Bosnjak stressed the importance of cooperation and connecting these six countries of the Western Balkans with the aim of their convergence and integration into the European Union.
