Bosnian drugmaker Bosnalijek confirmed for N1 Wednesday that they offered the Government of Bosnia's Federation entity (FBiH) the possibility of importing the AstraZeneca vaccine and that they conveyed their conditions and possibilities to the authorities.

“Bosnalijek offered the possibility of importing the AstraZeneca vaccine and transferred the conditions and possibilities to the FBiH Government. As a potential importer, we cannot engage in the analysis of media reports regarding the vaccine, as long as it is approved by the EMA,” Bosnalijek wrote.

“The FBiH Government decide whether or not it wants to order this vaccine at this time,” they added.

During the Tuesday evening session, the FBiH Government noted that talks with representatives of the Bosnalijek company were conducted via video link. The official documentation pointed out that Bosnalijek offered to procure the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The drugmaker added they are in constant contact with several vaccine producers and suppliers and will remain so until the country obtains the required quantities of vaccines against the coronavirus.
