The video showing policemen in the Serbian town of Priboj singing a song that glorifies the Srebrenica Genocide has shocked both local Bosniaks and, according to Bosniak political representatives there, if Serbian institutions sanction those involved adequately it will strengthen inter-ethnic relations in the town. The video shows the police officers celebrating and singing a song calling for new crimes such as the 1995 Srebrenica genocide or the 1991 destruction of Vukovar in Croatia. Bosniak political representatives and victims associations strongly condemned the behaviour of the policemen.

Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin meanwhile announced that a disciplinary procedure was initiated against the officers in the video.
“Bosniaks, as well as Serbs, have expressed concern equally, considering that the Police is part of the system, one of the base institutions of the system that should sanction and react to such situations,” said the Edita Hasanagic, from the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Priboj.
She stressed that inter-ethnic relations in the town are good and that Priboj managed to maintain its multi-ethnic character even throughout the 1990s.
“I think this situation will strengthen our mutual relations,” she said.
“I have hope and believe in the state institutions of Serbia, I believe that the rule of law is respected. I can say that we have promises that a clinical centre will be built in Novi Pazar, that road infrastructure will be built, a highway through Sandzak, that's what we want as a society to strive towards. I feel that Serbia has shown that it is interested in the development of this part of Serbia,” she said.
