Top Bosnian cyclist Lejla Njemcevic delivered an outstanding performance at the World Cup in France, securing the most convincing victory of her career.
The race in France was held on a 100-kilometer track with a 5000-meter climb, considered the toughest in the World Cup series.
Lejla completed the race in 6 hours and 40 minutes, finishing 13 minutes and 33 seconds ahead of the second-place American, Hannah Reu Otto.
“I am very happy to have won first place in the toughest World Cup race ever, with 100 kilometers in length and 5,000 meters of climbing. Now I will wear the leader’s jersey of the World Marathon Series, and I am extremely happy to have represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the best way at the biggest mountain biking competition,” Lejla said after the race.
Following this triumph, Njemcevic leads the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series with 450 points and will start the next race wearing the leader’s jersey.
