Members of BiH associations in Germany held a protest in Bonn Saturday, expressing the need for Bosnia's unity. The reason for the protest was the current political crisis. An appeal to the UN and the German Government was sent from the protest symbolically called "5 minutes to 12 o’clock for the unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina".
They stressed that the political situation in BiH is worrying and that what happened in the early 1990s must not happen again.
“We want to tell them [the German Government] that it’s high time to stop hiding behind the High Representative, but to join the process of resolving the crisis in BiH as the fourth world power. We appeal to them to stop the attack on the sovereignty of BiH and its Constitution,” said Ahmed Spahic, the President of the Board of the Pangea Network.
Amir Aletic, from the organization Amanet e.V, said that they want to show that BiH did not start its existence in the 1990s but that it existed a thousand years and that it must continue to live.
“We are a factor that must be accepted and listened to. We don’t have a reserve country. Bosnia is ours and we will not give it at any cost,” said Aletic.
Many of those gathered at the protest said they left the country during the 1992-1995 war.
BiH flags could be seen in Bonn, and one could hear Bosnian songs.
