Bosnian football association fined over fans’ ‘discriminatory behaviour’

Europe's top governing body for football has sanctioned the Bosnia national team over what was called “discriminatory behaviour” of the fans during the recent match played against Romania, ordering a 12,000 euro fine and partial closure of the stadium during the first home game, foreign media reported. According to the Spanish media outlet ‘AS’, UEFA's appeals body has passed the decision following the game within the League of Nations that the Bosnians played against Romania on June 7, over the discriminatory behaviour of the fans.

UEFA tasked the Bosnian national football association to close at least 1,500 seats at the official stadium's section at the next home game, which means that 1,500 seats will be unavailable for the Bosnian team fans at the upcoming match against Finland.

In addition to the 12,000 euro fine, the Bosnian governing football body will also have to pay 2,500 euro for trespassing on the pitch during the match against the Romanians.

The Bosnian association will aslo need to display a banner with the ‘No to Racism’ logo and the UEFA logo during the same match.
