Bosnian government approves deployment of rescue teams to flood-hit Slovenia

Bosnia's Council of Ministers convened in an extraordinary phone session on Thursday and passed the decision on providing international assistance for protection and rescue to the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in helping the country remove the consequences of the floods that have so far claimed six lives and caused enormous material damage.

The decision approves the deployment of two protection and rescue teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the teams of the Federation entity Civil Protection Administration and Republika Srpska entity of Civil Protection Administration, with heavy machinery and the necessary manpower.

The Council of Ministers also passed a Decision on approving funds from the current reserve of the budget of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the purpose of financing the costs of teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina when providing international assistance to the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in the amount of 350,000 marks (approx 175,000 euro).

According to the decision, the amount of 200,000 marks (some 100,000 euros) is transferred to the Federation's Civil Protection Administration, and the amount of 150,000 marks (some 75,000 euros) to the Republika Srpska Civil Protection Administration, said the Council of Ministers.

BiH Presidency on Tuesday approved the deployment of a ten-member unit of the Bosnian Army Engineer Battalion with the necessary equipment to Slovenia.
