The Government of Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity discussed on Saturday the Information of the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government after the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt imposed changes to the Election Law of BiH, and invited all members of the election enforcement bodies from this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina to submit resignations.
The Government convened in a phone session and adopted the Information regarding the imposition of amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Expressing its commitment to full respect and consistent application of international law, the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Constitution of Republika Srpska, the RS Government is of the opinion that laws can only be changed in a parliamentary procedure and considers it unacceptable to impose amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the self-proclaimed high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the Government of Republika Srpska entity, whose leadership does not recognise Schmidt as the international envoy.
