The team was led by Jonquel Jones who scored 24 points, followed by Nikolina Babic (16), Miljana Dzombeta (14), and Andjela Delic (12).
Head coach Goran Lojo thanked the fans for all the support and called the win “the greatest victory of my career.”
“I am very proud and happy because of this historic win,” he said.
Lojo promised the team will give its best in the game against the French team.
Securing the spot in the quarter-finals of the European championship is so far the greatest success that the Bosnian women's basketball team ever made after winning 10th place in the 1999 EuroBasket.
