SSS FBiH reminds that the average salary paid in the FBiH for November 2024 was 1,401 Bosnian marks (€715), which is the most recent data published by the FBiH Statistics Institute, while the minimum wage, according to the decision of the FBiH Government, is 1,000 Bosnian marks (€510).

The coverage of the union consumer basket with the average salary is 44.48 percent, while the minimum wage covers only 31.75 percent of the required amount.

The calculation of the consumer basket considers the average salary paid in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the minimum living costs for a four-member household, consisting of two adults and two children—one in high school and the other in elementary school.

The consumer basket itself is structured as follows: food accounts for 44.49 percent, housing and utility services 13.94 percent, hygiene and health maintenance 9.25 percent, education and culture 10.16 percent, clothing and footwear 11.43 percent, transportation 4.38 percent, and household maintenance 6.35 percent.

In the food category, price calculations were based on 86 items from three retail centres. For hygiene and health maintenance, costs for 10 essential items were considered, while for housing and utility services, costs for six basic items were included, according to the statement from SSS FBiH.
