Bosnia’s exports drop by 6.3%, trade deficit reaches 8.4 billion KM in first eight months of 2024

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s exports in the first eight months of this year (January-August) amounted to 10.524 billion KM, which is a 6.3% decrease compared to the same period last year. Imports, however, reached 18.948 billion KM, marking a 3.6% increase.

The coverage of imports by exports was 55.5%, and the foreign trade deficit amounted to 8.424 billion KM, according to the BiH Agency for Statistics.

BiH exports to CEFTA countries totaled 1.737 billion KM, which is 17.3% less than the same period last year, while imports amounted to 2.211 billion KM, a 2.7% increase. The import-export coverage with CEFTA countries stood at 78.6%.

BiH exports to EU countries amounted to 7.764 billion KM, a 6% decrease compared to the same period last year, while imports reached 11.280 billion KM, a 5.9% increase. The coverage of imports by exports with EU countries was 68.8%.
