In the second quarter of this year, Bosnia and Herzegovina's real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.2 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
According to the Statistics Agency of BiH, seasonally adjusted data reveals that GDP increased by 1 percent in the second quarter of 2024 when compared to the first quarter.
A notable increase was observed in the construction sector, where the gross value added rose by 8.9 percent year-on-year in the second quarter.
From an expenditure perspective, GDP also grew by 2.2 percent in the second quarter, compared to the same period in the previous year.
Additionally, seasonally adjusted figures show a 0.7 percent rise in GDP for the second quarter of this year relative to the prior quarter.
When breaking down GDP by expenditure categories, real growth was seen across all sectors in the second quarter: household consumption rose by 1.8 percent, government consumption by 1.9 percent, gross investments surged by 9.6 percent, exports of goods and services grew by 1.8 percent, and imports of goods and services climbed by 5.2 percent.
