Defending the homeland is the sacred duty of every Muslim, Bosnia’s Grand Mufti Husein Kavazovic said following media reports that High Representative Christian Schmidt criticized his statement regarding the defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in his last report to the UN Security Council. “I will always defend my homeland, and that is the sacred duty of every Muslim. Let Schmidt write his reports, that's his job,” the Grand Mufti said, MINA Agency reported.

Media outlets reported earlier that Schmidt called the Grand Mufti’s statements the “rhetoric of division”, in his report, putting them in the same context with the statements of other officials that referred to Bosniaks, “Muslims” and “Mohammedans”, MINA said.
