Bosnia's trade deficit reaches 1.88 Billion marks in first two months of 2025

In the first two months of 2025, Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded exports worth 2.659 billion Bosnian marks (approximately €1.36 billion), an increase of 6.1% compared to the same period last year.

Imports reached 4.538 billion marks (around €2.33 billion), reflecting a 6.4% rise. This resulted in an export-to-import coverage of 58.6% and a trade deficit of 1.88 billion marks (about €960 million), according to data from the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

Exports to CEFTA countries during January and February were 448 million Bosnian marks (roughly €229 million), marking a 17.3% growth compared to 2024. Imports from CEFTA countries grew by 17.4%, totalling 548 million marks (around €280 million). Export-to-import coverage with CEFTA countries stood at 81.7%.

Trade with the European Union also grew, with exports totalling 1.958 billion marks (approximately €1 billion), up 3.4% year-on-year. Imports from the EU were 2.628 billion Bosnian marks (about €1.35 billion), showing a 3% increase. The export-to-import coverage with EU countries was 74.5%.
