U.S. Congressmen Jake Auchincloss and Mike Turner, co-chairs of the Congressional Bosnia Caucus, stated on Monday that the efforts of the president of BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity Mlorad Dodik “to dismantle the Dayton Peace Agreement and undermine three decades of fragile peace in the Balkans are deeply concerning". The congressmen reacted to the announcement of the entity president’s trip to Moscow, reportedly for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“His turn to Vladimir Putin for support only further destabilizes the region, threatens Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty, and defies the rule of law,” Auchincloss and Turner said in a joint statement.

“The United States and our allies cannot allow these actions to go unchecked. As Co-Chairs of the Congressional Bosnia Caucus, we remain committed to advancing peace and stability in BiH, and we will continue working with our European allies to counter malign influence and uphold the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity in the Balkans,” their statement says.
