Bosnia's state coalition met in Mostar where they agreed that the budget of BiH institutions should be discussed at the Thursday session of the Council of Ministers when it should be adopted in an urgent procedure in both houses of the state parliament.
After the meeting, Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) leader Dragan Covic addressed the media, announcing that the budget can be expected soon, as well as “all the other activities we need so that we can start the negotiation process in the fall while Hungary presides over the EU.”
In addition to the agreement concerning the budget, a joint conclusion was reached, which Covic said defines the things that the ruling party will work on together in the next month in order to create an environment in which the legislative and executive authorities could function normally.
When asked by journalists whether the outcome of the meeting means that the coalition exists, Covic replied that it depends on whether the budget agreed today will be adopted on Thursday.
He also noted that the next session of the BiH Council of Ministers will be held in Mostar and that everything related to the budget can realistically be expected to be completed in the coming days.
