Croatia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlic Radman, met with his Bosnian counterpart Elmedin Konakovic in Sarajevo on Wednesday, on which occasion they both confirmed that the two countries would continue building good and friendly relations.
Grlic Radman was in Sarajevo as a member of the Croatian government delegation led by Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and took this opportunity to hold a bilateral meeting with the foreign minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the two ministers discussed bilateral cooperation, relations in the region, and further activities on Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to European Union membership.
Grlic Radman pointed out that Croatia would continue to provide support and assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in its bid to join the European Union, the press release said.
Konakovic said it was in the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina to further strengthen its economic and overall bilateral relations with Croatia.
The joint government commission monitoring the implementation of agreements between the two countries on the European partnership held its inaugural session under the chairmanship of Josip Brkic, Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Andreja Metelko-Zgombic, State Secretary at Croatia's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The commission defined programmes for further cooperation in seeking solutions to issues that might arise during the implementation of the agreements.
As announced by Prime Minister Plenkovic, through this commission the Croatian government will make the knowledge, experience and expertise Croatia had gained during its EU integration process available to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
