Daniel Koski assumed the position of Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. at the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina in February 2025, following the departure of Michael Murphy from his role as U.S. Ambassador to BiH. Pročitaj više

Koski is a career diplomat and a senior member of the US Foreign Service, holding the rank of Counselor.

Before his appointment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he served as Consul General at the US Embassy in Ecuador from 2020 to 2023. He was also stationed at the US Embassy in Albania from 2016 to 2020, where he spent the last two years as Acting Deputy Chief of Mission. Throughout his diplomatic career, he has also been assigned to Washington, D.C., as well as US diplomatic missions in Mexico, Canada, Bolivia, Hungary, and Cuba, according to a statement from the US Embassy in BiH.

Born in Illinois, Koski earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s degree in International Relations from North Carolina State University. He is fluent in Spanish and has knowledge of Bosnian, Albanian, and Hungarian. He is married and has three children.
