After visiting Serbia last night, despite an active central detention warrant against him, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik has travelled to Israel.
Upon landing in Israel, Dodik posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), stating that he deeply respects Israel’s history and determination.
“I have begun my visit to Israel, a country whose strength, history, and determination I deeply respect.
Israel demonstrates that freedom and security are priceless and that a people who know who they are will neither be a target nor a subordinate,” he wrote.
He further stated that Republika Srpska and Israel are defending themselves unapologetically.
“Just as Israel defends itself unapologetically, Republika Srpska defends its right to exist, decide, and uphold the legacy of its ancestors.
Serbs and Jews are peoples who have faced attempts at total eradication—and they survived. That is why we understand each other. And that is why we stand together.”
A few hours before Dodik's statement, the Republika Srpska Government’s Cessna Citation aircraft landed in Israel, specifically in Tel Aviv.
According to earlier announcements, Milorad Dodik is expected to participate in the Conference against antisemitism in Jerusalem, on March 26 and 27.
Previously, media reports speculated that Israel could be a potential destination where Dodik might seek refuge due to the central detention warrant issued against him by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has ordered one-month detention for Milorad Dodik, RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic, and RS National Assembly President Nenad Stevandic. This decision follows their failure to respond to summonses from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for questioning. The three are charged with undermining the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
