Electricity supply in Bosnia and Herzegovina has normalized in most of the country, the Independent System Operator told N1.
The power outage in Bosnia and Herzegovina occurred in the afternoon hours, sometime after 12:30 pm., and the first information that the authorities announced was that an overload on the network caused it.
The power outage in BiH was caused by problems in the regional transmission network and overloading of key 400kV interconnecting lines, the Independent System Operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina (NOSBiH) told N1.
The direct consequence of this was the cascading transmission of disturbances to the Electric Power System (EPS) in BiH.
A similar scenario happened on June 20, 2024, when there was a problem in the EPS of Greece, North Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. The timely intervention of operational staff and the localization of the problem on the border with Montenegro prevented the spread of the collapse to the BiH EPS.
