The European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated the successful completion of the Generation Change program yesterday, which this year involved 600 young people from across the country, with 11 of them being awarded a study trip to Brussels.
For the second consecutive year, the Generation Change program provided young people from different parts of the country and various professions with a unique platform for networking, collaboration, and innovation.
The program, which included two segments—working with students at public universities and a Political Academy for Youth—equipped participants with the tools to develop their ideas and social media campaigns, reaching over 2.5 million people.
Johann Sattler, Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that Generation Change is not just a program but a movement of young minds gathered to build ideas for a better future for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The enthusiasm and creativity demonstrated by young people from across the country are truly impressive. I am confident that the experiences gained here, and soon in Brussels, will empower these young leaders to make a lasting positive impact,” Sattler emphasized.
Jovana Peric, a student at the Faculty of Business Economics in Bijeljina, highlighted that all participants would agree that this experience was different and more exciting than anything they had previously participated in.
“The energy was always very friendly and positive, which contributed to each of us showcasing our potential and creativity,” Peric added.
This year, the story of Generation Change is a testament to the talent, innovation, and collaboration of the youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As recognition for their outstanding efforts, the most successful participants have been awarded a study trip to Brussels, where they will have the opportunity to present their work and gain valuable insights into the functioning of the European Union, the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
