In Banja Luka, damage to thirty passenger vehicles and several houses was reported following severe weather, according to the Department for Civil Protection and Professional Territorial Fire and Rescue Unit.

Dragan Babic, Head of the Department, stated that the storm affected the neighbourhoods of Lazarevo, Tunjice, and the Potkozarje area.

He said that the water supply to the Potkozarje villages is being stabilized, and the entire area is expected to have water by the end of the day.

On Saturday afternoon, strong storms hit certain parts of Banja Luka, with hail reported in some areas.

The Doboj Istok municipality has declared a state of natural disaster due to the damage caused by hailstones the size of tennis balls to crops, buildings, and cars, said Zoran Jovanovic, Director of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of Tuzla.

The Meteoalarm has issued warnings for nine regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding severe weather expected in parts of the country and a heatwave in Mostar.

Jovanovic noted that the hailstorm was unprecedented and caused the most damage in the Doboj Istok municipality.
“Agricultural crops, orchards, cars, greenhouses, and residential roofs were damaged,” he said.

He added that the hail also hit other areas in the Tuzla Canton, including Gracanica, Lukavac, parts of Tuzla, Pozarnica, Zivinice, and other local communities.
