The Police Administration of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity said it is checking the allegations regarding Zoran Cegar, head of the FBiH Uniformed Police, who threatened a journalist.
Working on the story about the way Cegar acquired property worth millions of euros in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, journalists from the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN) contacted Cegar to get the necessary information. Cegar refused to speak to the journalists and threatened them.

“Don't even think of calling me again, don't make me find you,” Cegar told the journalist.
“We inform the public that the FBiH Police Administration is taking measures and actions to verify the mentioned information that has appeared in the public, and we emphasize that any of our decisions in a specific case will be based exclusively and only on the evidence that will be obtained during the internal proceedings before the Unit for professional standards, and will be the result of the consistent application of the principles of the rule of law based on the consistent application of the provisions of the Law on Police Officers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the provisions of the Law on Criminal Procedure of the FBiH. Namely, as one of the guarantors of the rule of law and the safety of citizens, we will insist on a detailed investigation of all the circumstances related to the case in question,” the FBiH Police Administration said.
However, the institution also criticised media reports on Cegar’s actions.
“Regardless of the fact that the publication in the media that we are referring to is in the interest of the public, we cannot help but notice that the same, as well as the media publications in recent times, have unjustifiably targeted the FBiH Police Administration as a source of alleged illegal behaviour and created a wrong image of legal work of the FBiH Police Administration,” it said.
Earlier on Friday, FBiH Interior Minister Aljosa Campara requested Cegar's suspension.
