BiH Presidency member Zeljko Komsic visited the company TC Energy in Washington, where he met with the director of the company and members of the Management Board.
During the visit, they discussed the current energy security in the Balkans, with special reference to the diversification of gas supply and southern interconnection, as well as the long-term solution to the problems faced by Bosnia and Herzegovina in the energy sector.
BiH Presidency member Komsic pointed out that energy security has long been a part of geopolitics throughout the world, including in the Western Balkans. He informed the management of the company about Bosnia’s obligations from the Stabilization and Association Agreement between BiH and the EU, which it undertook in order to harmonize policies with the EU, and the challenges that the country faces when it comes to reforms of the energy sector in BiH.
Opinions were exchanged on potential investments that the company TC Energy could implement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special emphasis on projects related to the diversification of energy sources and sustainable development.
The company director expressed satisfaction with the possibility of cooperation with BiH and the Balkans countries in general, emphasizing the importance that this region has in TC Energy's plans to expand on the international market.
