In recognition of her outstanding contribution to film art, Hollywood star Meg Ryan was awarded the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award at the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival. The award was presented to her at the Coca-Cola Summer Cinema.

“Thank you for your hearts. Thanks for your example. This is Sarajevo. It has more balls than others. Now, anyone, anywhere who suffers any kind of violence or oppression and feels alone, can look to this place and you as an example. You are proof that diversity is power and that art is anything that makes you feel less alone and that art connects us without any barriers. There is no separation. Art, not war,” said Meg Ryan, Avaz daily reports.

She introduced herself at the Masterclass program on Tuesday, which was moderated by BiH director Danis Tanovic.

“I'm glad to be here, I'm honoured to attend, it's really an honour to be here with you,” the actress said at the beginning of the program.

Then she told how she actually started acting and how she became an actress.
