Mostar Airport expects a significant increase in the number of passengers in 2025, and according to CEO Marko Djuzel, Mostar Airport will definitely exceed the record year of 2012, when it recorded a total of 78,000 passengers

"This year we have a record number of regular lines. In addition to Zagreb and Belgrade, which operate as year-round lines, Istanbul will star from the sixth month, and as of May 2 we will have 15, that is 11 connections from Mostar Airport. With Sky Alps, these include Munich, Bari, Naples, Palermo, Bergamo and Rome, Eurowings will fly to Stuttgart and Düsseldorf, and AJet to Istanbul. We have completed all the agreements for this year and are now slowly arranging the winter season," Djuzel told Fena news agency.

The novelty is that as of June, Mostar will be connected by a direct air line to Istanbul, and the first flight of the AJet airline on the Mostar - Istanbul route will depart on June 4. The flights will operate regularly every Wednesday, throughout the year.

Djuzel stressed that interest in the line with Istanbul is quite good and that they expect it to be a top destination.

"We can say that Belgrade was number one prior to that but Istanbul is a very positive story and we expect that it may be a record-breaking destination for Mostar," he noted.

He believes that the introducing the new lines and the increase in the number of passengers will positively affect the development of tourism, as well as other segments of economic life in Mostar and Herzegovina.

Last year, Mostar Airport doubled the number of passengers compared to 2023, and this year it expects record numbers.

"In 2023 there were 20 thousand passengers, in 2024 that number was raised to 50 thousand, and this year we expect somewhere between 70 and 80 thousand. It is difficult to estimate at this moment, but we definitely think that in 2025, it will overtake the record year of 2012, when there were 78 thousand passengers," he underlined.
