The OIC session, which took place on March 16 and 17 in Nouakchott, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, was attended by foreign ministers and representatives of 57 member countries, observer countries and partner organizations under the motto “Moderation: the key to security and stability”, the MINA news agency reported.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has observer status, was represented by its permanent representative in the organisation, Muhamed Jusic.

The resolution expresses support for the implementation of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its annexes, as well as for the decisions of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC), the international body overseeing BiH’s peace process. It also confirms the support of the OIC member states to the preservation of the unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty and international identity of BiH, within its internationally recognized borders and as a fully functional and self-sustaining state, capable of exercising its powers and fulfilling its international obligations, with its multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-religious structure.

All 57 OIC member states condemned and rejected all conclusions, statements and activities of representatives of lower levels of government which undermine the competences of the state of BiH and calls for secessionism and the creation of new territorial units which represents a violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and threatens peace and security in the country and the Western Balkans.
