Orthodox Christians across Bosnia and Herzegovina are celebrating Easter, the greatest Christian holiday, on Sunday according to the Julian calendar.
Bishop Jefrem of Banja Luka, one Bosnia’s major cities with a Orthodox Christian majority, served the Easter liturgy together with the priests of the Diocese at the Christ the Savior Orthodox Cathedral.
An Easter Liturgy was also held at the Orthodox Church Snt. Vasilije in Istocno Sarajevo.
Children were given a coloured egg that symbolises health, happiness and new life.
After the liturgy, the faithful went to their homes where they will spend their holiday with family and friends.
