The director of the Office for Kosovo Petar Petkovic announced that he informed the EU special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, that the special forces of the Kosovo police illegally raided Gazovode. 

“I have just informed Miroslav Lajcak about the armed and illegal incursion of Kurti's special forces Rosu in Gazivode! They took away the guard's keys, tore up the flags of Serbia,” Petkovic wrote on Twitter.

“The EU must restrain the bully and usurper Kurti from his unilateral and armed actions with which he wants to provoke a war!”, he added.

The leader of the “Za Zubin Potok” initiative, Milija Biševac, assessed that the situation in that municipality is tense due to the invasion of the Kosovo special forces in the facility on the Gazivode lake dam.

“The people are upset and scared but determined to defend their homes, and that's why the barricades are being organized,” he said.

Lake Gazivode, which has a small hydropower plant, serves to irrigate the Kosovo Plain for water supply to Pristina and for cooling the “Obilic” Thermal Power Plant.
