After a complex surgical procedure lasting several hours, which began at 8:00 AM, President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has been placed in the Intensive Care Unit.

Dodik was hospitalized yesterday in Belgrade due to acute pain, and doctors determined that surgery on his esophagus and stomach was necessary.

The operation was performed at a clinic specialized in treating such conditions, with the involvement and consultation of medical experts from Republika Srpska.

The President's office issued a statement thanking foreign dignitaries and the people of Republika Srpska for their messages of support and well-wishes for a speedy recovery, received throughout yesterday and today.

“The public will be promptly informed about the health status of the President of Republika Srpska,” the statement from Dodik's office concluded.
