According to initial information, I migrant died in an incident involving several migrants which took place in the Sarajevo Stup neighbourhood, on Monday afternoon.

N1 learned from the Stup locals that shouting and gunshots were heard and that they later found out that migrants had clashed with each other.

N1 learned that a 20-year-old migrant was shot in the altercation and later succumbed to injuries.

The photographs show a group of migrants and citizens watching in shock, as well as a large number of police officers.

N1 contacted the Operations Center of the Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry who said they are still working on collecting information about the said event.

Consequently, it is not known what happened to the perpetrator, whether he is on the run or if he was arrested.

A witness to the incident, who helped the “bloody migrant” to be transferred to the emergency room, revealed the details of the conflict that allegedly happened between two migrant groups.

“I was sitting here (in the front yard) with my wife when several bullets were fired. Migrants were running this way. We stood up and watched,” he said.

“I turned around and told my wife: this doesn’t look good. Then I saw a police car, and a wounded man, a bloody migrant was lying below. Maughter-in-law came out and we tried to stop four or five cars, but nobody wanted to stop.”

According to this witness, several migrants who rode a “blue car” stopped and dragged the wounded migrant away.

“We put him in the car with the migrants. One guy was sitting in the front, two were in the back where we placed him. I told them to go to the emergency room,” he told N1.
