Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday that members of the Helicopter Unit and the Emergency Situations Sector, as well as the helicopters, were sent to Bosnia and Herzegovina's city of Trebinje, where they will be stationed in the event of large open fires in the BiH's Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

At the meeting of the delegation of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior with the Civil Protection Administration of the RS and the mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Curic, Dacic said that the goal is to prevent the rapid spread of fires, especially in inaccessible areas, as well as to provide assistance to firefighters on the ground, Serbia's Interior Ministry said in a statement.

He assessed that the coordinated work of firefighters and rescuers from the Department for Emergency Situations and the Helicopter Unit of Serbia showed that experience, knowledge and resources could be made available to the RS during the increased risk of open fires.
