The parade of the Serbian Army on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sparked a wave of reactions. Many have described it as an "attack on the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina" and an "assault on the dignity of the victims."
We immediately sought a reaction from the Border Police of BiH. This is their response to N1.
“We inform you that the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, via a verbal note on July 5, 2024, notified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina that delegations from the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, students and cadets of the Criminal Police University and Military Academy from Belgrade, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army would visit BiH. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced the arrival and informed all competent and relevant institutions, including the Border Police of BiH,” stated the Border Police.
However, there has yet to be an official response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and Minister Elmedin Konakovic.
To recap, yesterday the ceremonial parade of the Serbian Army passed through Prijedor, Bratunac, and Kozara ahead of the commemoration of the Battle of Kozara.
Member of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Becirovic, stated that the BiH Presidency did not approve the entry of members of the Serbian Army into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Meanwhile, the Serbian Embassy in Sarajevo claimed to have notified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH about the arrival of the Serbian Army members.
