Stevanovic confirmed that they had received instructions from the Central Election Commission (CEC) that introduced certain changes regarding the removal of election material.
“It is now under the jurisdiction of the MEC and the MEC members are obliged to take the polling material to the polling station accompanied by the police no later than 12 hours before the opening of polling stations. The polling material will be locked until the opening of the polling station, and the presence of police officers will be ensured at that place,” said Stevanovic.
She pointed out that the CEC will appoint a supervisor at each polling station to monitor the election process.
Also, members and chairpersons of polling stations who were engaged on election day on November 15 will not be able to be re-engaged on the repeat elections on February 21.
