According to Srna, the Embassy note said that since the draft Resolution on the appointment of the High Representative proposed by China and Russia at the UN Security Council was not adopted, “China considers that the appointment of a new High Representative is not legitimate.”

Local media reported earlier that China sent a diplomatic note to the Office of the High Representative in BiH (OHR) and Bosnia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the matter.
Russia's ambassador to BiH, Igor Kalabukhov, said earlier that his country also does not recognise the legality and legitimacy of Schmidt's election, and that Russia does not intend to cooperate with the High Representative.
