“We have the support of all those who believe it is time to take action and bring change,” the protest organizers stated.
“Four months have passed since the tragic disaster in Jablanica, which claimed the lives of 19 of our fellow citizens. Why do those responsible remain silent? This is not just an accident—it is the result of systemic negligence and the incompetence of those whose duty it is to protect the lives of citizens. Enough waiting,” the organizers declared.
They emphasized that “no one has been held accountable for the existence of an illegal quarry in Donja Jablanica, no one has been held responsible for the lack of a Forest Law in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and no one has been punished for unauthorized construction and obstruction of flood-prone rivers.”
They also pointed out that an official investigation has yet to be launched, with only preliminary inquiries underway—proceedings that have no legal time limit.
“This disregard for human lives must not go unpunished. We demand accountability from all those who failed, from local to state institutions. We cannot allow this tragedy to be forgotten. Justice for Jablanica—justice for Bosnia and Herzegovina!” the organizers said, calling on all citizens to join the protest on Monday.
They also stated that they expect significant support from both the public and students and that they plan additional actions, which will be announced via social media.
Regarding transportation, they confirmed that buses will be provided from Jablanica, while other attendees will arrive using private vehicles.
