After Infinity Group denied any connection with the Dodik family and invited U.S. Ambassador Michael Murphy to a formal or informal meeting to present all information and resolve misunderstandings, we asked the relevant authorities at the Embassy for their reaction to the invitation.

Is the proposed model acceptable for the new management to continue operations and save around 800 jobs? Would this solution remove OFAC's doubts and concerns? Is this an acceptable solution? The U.S. Embassy responded:

“The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) statement of June 18 provides a detailed explanation regarding these sanctions. U.S. policy on sanctions is clear and consistent. OFAC will continue to sanction individuals and entities involved in activities that threaten the peace, security, stability, or territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, undermine democratic processes or institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, obstruct the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, engage in corruption, or provide material support to sanctioned persons.”

When asked if there is a possibility for sanctioned companies and individuals to continue operating, working, and receiving salaries, they said:

“Given the importance of IT services for modern business and administration, we encourage all relevant levels of government to review existing contracts and ensure that service providers can meet customer requirements without violating sanctions or seek alternatives.”

What is sufficient for removal from the list? They responded:

“Sanctions are serious, not imposed lightly, nor lifted lightly. The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), in consultation with other U.S. government agencies with an interest and key information for that process, decides when individuals are added or removed from the list as part of the Western Balkans Sanctions Program.
