The National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RSNA) decided to focus on “divisions, provocations and areas that do not fall under its jurisdiction,” which only strengthen the necessity for the presence of the High Representative in the country, the UK ambassador Matt Field said commenting on the session of the Serb-majority's entity parliament dedicated to work of the international envoy overseeing the peace implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Field said that this session comes at the moment of “health crisis and economic difficulties” and that instead of focusing on the needs of citizens, the RSNA decided to focus on divisions and provocations.

“Such ungrounded assaults on legal order and integrity of this country only strengthen the necessity for the OHR (the Office of the High Representative),” Field tweeted a day after the March 10 session.

The entity parliament convened on Wednesday, adopting several conclusions regarding the work of the High Representative, an international envoy appointed to oversee the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which ended the 1992-95 war in Bosnia.

One of the conclusion said it was about time for Bosnia's two entities and three major ethnic groups to take responsibility for the country in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement – which contains Bosnia's Constitution, otherwise, they would launch procedures for the “peaceful dissolution.”

The session sparked reactions including the one of the OHR and the British ambassador in the country.

The Dayton Peace Agreement the international deal that ended the Bosnian war, while its Annex 4 contains the country's Constitution. The peace treaty initialled in November 1995 in Dayton, Ohio and signed a month later in Paris had introduced territorial changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, dividing the country into two semi-autonomous regions – Serb-majority Republika Srpska and Bosniak-Croat shared Federation, with both entities and three major ethnic groups being represented in the central government at the state level.

To oversee the peace implementation in the country, the international community formed the Office of the High Representative, which remains present in the country to date and whose presence is strongly opposed by the Republika Srpska leadership. The High Representative's work is regulated by the Peace Agreement's Annex 10.
