The head of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein Kavazovic, met with US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy on Friday to discuss the importance of interfaith dialogue and the role of religious leaders in addressing the past and fostering reconciliation among the country's citizens. During the meeting, Ambassador Murphy reaffirmed the United States’ unwavering support for Bosnia's multiethnic character, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.

Kavazovic expressed gratitude to Ambassador Murphy for his personal commitment to promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina's interests and strengthening the two nations’ historically strong ties.

“Honored to meet with Reis Kavazovic today to discuss the importance of interreligious dialogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina and how religious leaders can play a role supporting reconciliation in BiH. I emphasized to him that the United States remains fully committed to BiH’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and multiethnic character and its Euro-Atlantic future,” Ambassador Murphy wrote on X.
