US Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina made an announcement regarding the financial situation of the Republika Srpska entity, stating that this entity has borrowed over 1.1 billion Bosnian marks on the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (some € 600.000) in the last year and a half. The Embassy therefore asked: "Where did all that money go?"
“Over the last 18 months, the RS government has borrowed more than 1.1 billion KM on the Banja Luka Stock Exchange alone, a significant amount that does not even include the commercial loans the RS government has taken, whose conditions haven’t been made available for public review,” the embassy wrote.
“So, if the RS government still ended up with a deficit and continues to have troubles making payments and meeting payment deadlines for social services and agricultural subsidies, the question is, where did all that money go?”
