US Senator Jeanne Shaheen met with her country’s NATO Ambassador in Brussels and called for the alliance to focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the “deteriorating situation” in the country.
According to Shaheen, who visited BiH earlier this week alongside US Senators Chris Murphy and Thom Tillis, “during the talks, the US Observatory called for greater NATO involvement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
“In our discussions, I shared my concerns about the deteriorating situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and continue to urge our NATO allies to refocus attention to maintain peace and stability in the Western Balkans,” she tweeted.
Concluding our delegation visit w/ @USAmbNATO in Brussels. Appreciate @SenThomTillis’ partnership on the Senate NATO Observer Group, which is more important today than ever before as we demonstrate a united Senate in support of Ukraine. 🇺🇸🇺🇦 pic.twitter.com/9e6FRKjdv2
